We're glad you are interested in becoming part of our growing police department. The following are things you should take into immediate consideration. Within 90 days from the date of hire, Police Officers are required to establish residence and actually reside within the counties of Broward, Miami-Dade, or Palm Beach during the period of their employment with the City. Officers residing within the tri-county area are also eligible for take-home vehicles upon completion of the necessary training programs.

Specialty Units

A move to a specialty unit can be considered following a patrol officer's completion of a probationary period.
